Our People

At Hospital Companions we consider our people to be our greatest asset. It is our people who are the bridge which connect patients, families, and medical staff during a health-related situation. We are very selective in who we call one of our own.

Our Companions are college-educated individuals with backgrounds in the area of Social Work, Psychology, Communications, or Education. These specialties encompass the characteristics essential to providing the personalized care our services offer. A high level of empathy, understanding, and critical thinking are required to be a member of the Hospital Companions team.

Our people share an in-depth knowledge of the technological aspects of our service. As the administrators of our Patient Page, they are experts in information dissemination in both the personal and web-based capacities.

In addition to having a high level of education, each of our Companions has had their own personal experience with having a loved one hospitalized. We believe these unique personal experiences deepen the commitment and understanding our Companions bring to our patients and their families.

Testimonial

When I was assigned to my room in the hospital it was a dreary space. But when my Hospital Companion arrived, she put beautiful posters on the wall, flowers in a vase and some bulb-lit candles. It's easier to feel better when your surroundings are beautiful.
