Family Support Program

We, at Hospital Companions, know that a hospitalization is difficult on both the patient and the family. This is why we developed our Family Support Program.

The Family Support Program begins with our interactive Patient Page™ which keeps families well-informed and involved. This page allows our Companions to communicate with families from the bedside of their patient, encouraging communication between patient and family. Families have access to the subjective elements of their patient's condition - What is his/her mood like? What have they eaten? What time is the physician expected to come by? Families have a place to post questions and/or send warm wishes to their patient.

All families have the opportunity to participate in our Family Support Program. This Program assists in connecting our families with others who may be experiencing similar challenges, with the hopes of finding comfort in knowing others are sharing in similar difficulties. Continuing our commitment to keeping our families well-informed, we have dedicated a portion of our site to "Health Resources". This is where our families can access links to a variety of medical and support information sites.

As family members ourselves, we understand the need to feel supported during a loved-one's hospitalization. When you hire a Hospital Companion, you add a member to your team. Your Companion is not a hospital sitter. She is your health advocate who supports both the patient and their family. Our Family Support Program provides a variety of tools to assist us in meeting that need.

Testimonial

When I was assigned to my room in the hospital it was a dreary space. But when my Hospital Companion arrived, she put beautiful posters on the wall, flowers in a vase and some bulb-lit candles. It's easier to feel better when your surroundings are beautiful.
