Nursing Home Care
Nursing Home Companion aids residents and their families by providing companionship care to the resident and support to the family.
Your Companion will visit the resident and use specially designed programs to enhance the resident's nursing home experience. Our programs include pet, music, art and social therapies, phototherapy and aromatherapy. We can also simply spend time visiting.
To ensure that our families stay well-informed, we have developed a customized, interactive Resident Page™, which allows resident and Companion to communicate with family, via laptop, from the resident's facility.
The Resident Page™ serves as a valuable resource for those who live further away but would like to keep in contact with the resident. Family and friends can send well wishes, pictures and even video to the Resident Page. At each visit, the Companion will bring her laptop and take the resident on a tour of his or her page. The residents absolutely love seeing the messages and photos people have sent since the last visit. Your Companion can also arrange virtual visits via Skype®.
After each visit the Companion will write an entry on the Resident Page about what the resident and Companion did during the visit, how the resident is feeling, what they are involved in that week, etc. Friends & family can check the Page and stay in touch with all that is going on with the resident.
Nursing Home Companions understand that it can be difficult when a loved-one needs to go into a Nursing Home or rehabilitation facility. So, we have developed a support program to assist you during this trying time. The resident's Companion is also the family's Companion and you can feel free to contact her with any questions or concerns. As a member of our Nursing Home Companions family, you will also have access to our list of support resources and family blogs.
